In this podcast, Kentucky Housing Corporation's (KHC) Executive Director, Edwin King, sits down with Ryan Quarles—who has served as the Commissioner of the Department of Agriculture for the Commonwealth of Kentucky since 2015. Under Commissioner Quarles leadership, several new, innovative programs have been developed or expanded, including initiatives to combat hunger and connect Kentucky farmers to new markets, and expanding the Homegrown By Heroes program, which was launched by Kentucky Department of Agriculture in 2013, to support Kentucky Proud for home-grown products and veteran farmers.
Kentucky Housing Corporation's Executive Director, Edwin King, sits down with Jacob Tamme, who is a former American football tight end and advocate of homes for wounded U.S. veterans who will be a keynote speaker during our 2018 Kentucky Affordable Housing Conference—The Power of Housing is Now—on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 21 and 22, in Lexington, Kentucky. Together, Tamme and his wife Allison co-founded the Swings for Soldiers Classic in 2010. Each year, they are joined by friends, family, and many volunteers to help produce an amazing event that benefits a great organization - Homes for Our Troops. In eight years, they have raised over $800,000 for the charity.
